Attend a 2026 regional wheat field day near you
Join MSU Extension and the Michigan Wheat Program for a small regional wheat field in Huron, Gratiot and Allegan counties.
Join Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Wheat Program for one of three regional wheat field days on May 26, 27 and 28. These are in addition to Michigan Wheat Program’s annual summer field day, which is set for Tuesday, June 16.
These regional field days are designed to be a little more informal, for a shorter time, and with a smaller group, allowing more one-on-one interaction with Dennis Pennington, Michigan State University (MSU) Extension wheat specialist. These will be held in the field at three of our state wheat variety trials in Huron, Gratiot and Allegan counties. This allows you the opportunity to walk a local variety trial and talk with those who are managing it.
Updates on current research projects in wheat will be discussed. If you have any poor-looking wheat, please feel free to bring in a sample with you and Pennington will help you determine the issue.
There is no registration required, and we will have light refreshments at all three meetings courtesy of the Michigan Wheat Program. Certified crop adviser and restricted use pesticide credits will be offered pending approval.
