About Us
Cultivate Michigan is a statewide campaign to help farm to institution programs grow.
Our Goal
We work toward the Michigan Good Food Charter goal that Michigan institutions source 25% of their food from Michigan sources by the year 2025.
Who We Are
Cultivate Michigan is a campaign of the Michigan Farm to Institution Network (MFIN), a group of practitioners, supporters and advocates all sharing common goals to help Farm to Institution programs grow.
Coming soon are tools to help institutional food program managers and buyers and food suppliers - including farmers and food vendors - track their efforts to source and serve Michigan foods and other priorities outlined in The Michigan Farm Institution Network’s Framework for 2022 and Beyond. Stay tuned!
Network membership is available to farm to Institution practitioners, farmers, food suppliers, and vendors as well as advocates, supporters, and researchers.
The Michigan Farm to Institution Network and Cultivate Michigan are coordinated by the Michigan State University (MSU) Center for Regional Food Systems with support from MSU Extension along with state agency partners and an advisory committee of practitioners. Learn more about the 2023 MFIN Team!
MFIN and Cultivate Michigan activities, and related farm to institution projects, have been funded over the years by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, the MDARD Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, the USDA Farm to School Grant Program, and the Americana Foundation.
