A Cultivate Michigan Meet the Buyers event is again being held as part of the annual 2025 Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market Expo (GLEXPO). It is an opportunity for GLEXPO attendees – farmers and food suppliers - to interact with regional buyers, including distributors, institutions, and retailers.
Buyers will be stationed at tables around the room, and suppliers will rotate to meet with buyers of their choice. Light refreshments will be provided, thanks to generous support from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Farm to Family Program. There will be plenty of time to mix and mingle!
Several resource providers will also be on hand to share information about current and forthcoming federal and state programs that will have resources and grants available for farmers.
When: 4:00-5:30 PM Wednesday December 10th, 2025 during the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable, and Farm Market EXPO

Who should participate?
- Institutional Buyers (such as schools, hospitals, colleges, food distributors, food hubs, etc.) interested in purchasing local food products from farmers and vendors in their region.
- Food Suppliers interested in selling local foods to institutional food buyers in the region. Farmers, food hubs, processors and distributors of any scale are welcome.
How to Register:
Buyers must pre-register for the Meet the Buyers event by December 1 in order to secure a table. Supplier registration is optional but encouraged. (Note: Suppliers must have an expo badge to attend the event; a badge can be purchased on the GLEXPO website.)
