We know that when institutions buy and serve local foods, they support local producers, strengthen the economy, and promote healthy eating.
Site visits are an impactful way to help decision-makers better understand your efforts and how their decisions can help support it—whether your goal is to raise awareness, show progress, or advocate for change.
In this 60-minute, interactive workshop, participants will walk through the steps to planning and hosting a site visit with policymakers. You will have a chance to test out an approach for identifying your goals, designing the experience.
This workshop is accompanied by the Good Food for Michigan written guide: "Invitation for Impact: How To Host Policymaker Site Visits."
This workshop is free, but registration is required.
The project is a partnership between institutions, farmers, food distributors, the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Department (MDARD), the Center for Good Food Purchasing, and Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems.
