Local Government Leadership Intensive
Local government leaders are often called on to navigate complex challenges, bring people together and move ideas into action—regardless of their formal role or title.
Join Michigan State University Extension and the Great Lakes Leadership Academy for a highly interactive, one-day Local Government Leadership Intensive designed for local government officials and staff who want to strengthen their leadership skills and apply them to real-world challenges.
Participants will work with trained facilitators and fellow local government leaders to explore practical approaches to leadership, build skills they can use immediately, and consider how they can lead effectively from any chair.

What to Expect
This is an interactive learning experience rather than a traditional lecture. Participants will have opportunities to reflect, discuss, practice and apply leadership concepts to challenges they encounter in their own communities and organizations.
Whether you are an elected or appointed official or a local government staff member, this intensive offers an opportunity to strengthen your leadership approach while learning alongside others who understand the opportunities and challenges of local government.
