Join us for an insightful webinar hosted by Michigan Substance Use Prevention, Education, and Recovery (MiSUPER). We will delve into evidence-based practices addressing opioid use prevention, treatment, and recovery. This presentation offers a comprehensive understanding of the opioid epidemic, its physiological and community impacts, and strategies for supporting individuals on their recovery journey. 
Key Objectives: 

  • Highlighting the significance of language in discussing substance use. 
  • Defining opioids and exploring their effects on the human body. 
  • Understanding the motivations behind opioid use. 
  • Examining the impact of the overdose crisis on communities. 
  • Identifying actionable steps to mitigate the crisis and save lives. 
  • Painting a picture of what recovery entails. 

Continuing Education Credit: Participants can earn one Michigan Social Work continuing education credit hour (approved by the National Association of Social Workers - Michigan Chapter, Approval #20260730-CA-MSUE) for attending the live webinar.
