Trademarking is important for food and beverage businesses. Unfortunately, this is often overlooked in the launch process, which can lead to a costly rebranding if an issue arises. Join this free webinar hosted by the Michigan State University Product Center featuring attorney Scott Keller, a trademarking specialist, and learn the basic steps involved in trademarking your brand. You must register to participate. If you are not able to join the live webinar, a link to the recording will be emailed to you after closed captioning has been added.
Scott Keller's Bio:
For almost four decades, Scott Keller has helped businesses of all sizes safely navigate intellectual property and internet issues – with a particular focus on trademarks, copyrights, domain names, rights of publicity and unfair competition. Scott counsels clients across a variety of industries, assisting them with the screening, registration, licensing protection and defense of their valuable trademark and copyright assets worldwide (working closely with counsel in other countries as appropriate). “At this stage of my career,” he notes, “there is almost nothing on the trademark or copyright front that I haven’t seen or handled.”
Scott understands that in today’s market, branding and marketing happen in real time. Businesses must convey their messages quickly and effectively. He knows clients need a lawyer that is responsive, effective and efficient. Scott and his team work to exceed the client’s expectations in all of these ways, so that the client can meet the challenges of this ever-changing world. And no matter where in the world the need is, Scott likely has a close contact that he can work with to get the job done quickly and with the best result.
Former chair of the firm’s Technology and Intellectual Property Group, Scott takes a holistic and needs-based approach to his work, factoring in all legal and practical angles before arriving at an ultimate strategy. He understands that law is not an academic exercise but must be viewed from the perspective of the real world needs of the client’s business.
