Zoning and Agriculture

September 28

Noon - 2 PM EDT

FREE

Location: New City Neighbors, 1115 Leonard St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Join us for an interactive workshop on zoning issues that impact farms. Learn from our experience so you can plan ahead, stay informed, and keep your farm growing. Topics will include special land use hearings, different zoning classifications, and how local zoning requirements can affect fences, hoop houses, greenhouses, and other farm infrastructure—particularly in an urban environment. Whether you are a farmer, aspiring farmer, policymaker, or agricultural service provider, this workshop will offer practical information to help you better understand and navigate zoning issues related to agriculture. Lunch will be provided. This event is free thanks to SARE’s support.

Contact Lance Kraai at Lancek@newcityneighbors.org or Katie Brandt at brandtk7@msu.edu for more information. We will notify you ASAP if there is a cancellation or change to this schedule.
