POSITION OUTLINE
Purpose of the Account Manager Trainee Program is to prepare the selected candidate to be considered to become an Account Manager for Pacific Landscape Management. The Candidate will assist the landscape design and estimating team to become acclimated into our design, bidding and estimating processes. Understanding these processes are key skills in the Account Manager position. The position requires the candidate to design small landscape renovations
and assist Branch Managers by measuring commercial and HOA properties and creating maintenance proposals.
Once the Account Manager Trainee (AMT) is acclimated to PLM and proficient with their designer/estimator, role, usually requiring one year in the position, the candidate will begin the more formal the Account Manager Trainee program that will help them learn all the important tasks, habits, relationships, and expectations of an Account Manager (AM) via observation and active participation. Additionally, the AMT will learn what it means to be part of Team Orange, and what it takes to thrive in the PLM culture. The end goal is that the AMT is ready to become an independent Account Manager by the end of the program. The success of the individual will be determined primarily by their ability to take initiative and be self-driven. The timeline in which the AMT will transition into an AM role will be determined by; when an opportunity becomes available, and when the company feels that the AMT is adequately prepared. The following is an outline of learning and experience objectives.
ACCOUNT MANAGER POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

- Knowledgeable in horticultural subjects to be able to provide answers and solutions to landscape issues
- Ability to communicate (read, write, and converse) to customers in English at a business professional communication standard.
- Ability stay organized to be efficient and keep track of all communications and project details

- Create, interpret, edit, and print information using Office Suite software applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, &Publisher)
- Ability to calculate the following: percentages, area, circumference, volume, diameter by use of basic geometric and other job specific mathematical calculations
- Ability to listen to angry or unreasonable customers or public individuals, and stay calm and professional
- Work with disappointed or angry customers to turn a negative situation into a positive outcome and preserve a healthy relationship

- Manage and secure the annual price increases necessary for all customer relationships
- Each week work closely with the field manager to ensure we are on the same page to share and prioritize site related issues and conduct the monthly property drives together
- Monitor and process tickets on a timely basis to ensure all jobs are completed and invoiced
- Use of personal organizational system to manage work and calendar

DESIGNER ESTIMATOR POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
- Perform Take-offs: Material Quantities and Square Footages for maintenance and construction
- Measurement properties with Goilawn Software
- Enter and evaluate bid information into Aspire Enterprise software
- Develop Designs with: Dynascape, ProLandscape, Sketch Up, and Auto Cad
- Work closely with Salesperson, Account Managers for accurate and timely bids
- Create proposals that will ensure quality, safety, customer satisfaction and
- Maintain positive working relationship with Branch/Area Managers and peers
- Assist in the development and update marketing material
- Assist in Management of website updates and social media campaigns
- Coordinate and assist marketing activity
- Coordinate weekly with Branch Managers and sale Reps to review schedule, timeframes, & deadlines,
- Hand Drafting in pencil and ink/Color rendering
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and Education
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Horticulture or related field or equivalent work
- Minimum of 3 years related
Language Skills
- Must be able to read, write and converse in fluent English
- Desired to possess basic Spanish conversational
Computer Skills
- Create, Interpret, edit and print information using Office Suite software applications
- Open, create, send and receive inter and intra-company e-mails
- Manage contracts and enhancement sales in Aspire Enterprise software as well as GoiLawn and ProLandscape
Special Skills and Licensure
- Employee must pass criminal background and drug screening testing at
- Valid Oregon Driver License with approved driving
- Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) or successful completion of CLT exam within 3 years of employment
