Climate Enablement Specialist

Digital Farming Solutions

Flexible Schedule | Independent Contractor Role

Objective

Meet face-to-face with growers to ensure proper installation and use of our Client’s precision agriculture hardware and software applications. Engage with growers to support their participation in the Client’s other digital farming solutions and new business model programs. Provide support and service to Client’s sales teams and dealers to ensure the success of grower’s activation and support the grower’s digital journey.

Position Requirements

The key competencies required for a contractor working this project are:

Demonstrated familiarity with an iPad and iOS applications
Good understanding of the client’s precision agriculture applications
Ability to resolve compatibility issues related to Bluetooth technology
Demonstrated knowledge of computer equipment and software
Excellent communications skills
Self-directed, demonstrated follow through skills
Computer/iPad/Tablet savvy, willingness to utilize technology and learn new technology

Training

Training will be provided by Bayer and is on-going throughout the project period. There may be occasional in-person training sessions throughout the project period, online training will also be utilized.

Time Commitment

The time commitment will vary but could at times be as much as 30 hours per week during pre-planting and pre-harvest seasons. Occasional Saturday work may be required.

Other Requirements

The contractor must supply a high-speed internet connection, smartphone that has hands-free capability with voice mail, steel toe/composite footwear, and a vehicle in working condition. Access to a document scanner is recommended. Contractor must be physically able to walk a ½ mile in field conditions.

Territory

Daily travel within a 50-150-mile radius of the contractor’s home may be necessitated.

Compensation

Hourly rate will be based upon individual contractor backgrounds and experience.

Expenses

All necessary expenses incurred in conducting the field activities will be reimbursed. This includes use of personal vehicle at the current IRS rate in effect at the time the mileage is incurred.

Confidentiality

This information is strictly confidential. Any breach of confidentiality will be considered grounds for dismissal from this project and may prohibit contractor from working on future projects with DCI.
