About Golf Club of Indiana
Golf Club of Indiana is a highly rated 18-hole public/private golf course built in 1974 and surrounded by a 516-home residential community. The property includes a state-of-the-art practice and teaching academy and a 300+ person banquet and wedding facility.
In mid-summer 2026, we will open Central Indiana’s first putting course, spanning over 38,000 square feet. The golf course encompasses approximately 175 acres of maintained turf and native areas and is recognized as an Audubon Sanctuary.
Position Summary
Golf Club of Indiana is seeking a motivated and career-driven individual to join our Grounds Crew as an Assistant Superintendent / Assistant-in-Training. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow into a Superintendent.
The Assistant/AIT will work closely with the Director of Grounds in all aspects of golf course maintenance and long-term projects. This is a hands-on role with exposure to every facet of golf course agronomy and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily golf course maintenance operations
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff
- Participate in chemical and fertilizer applications
- Perform and oversee cultural practices
- Assist with construction and renovation projects
- Support planning and execution of long-term agronomic goals
Qualifications
- 2+ year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field
- 2+ years of golf course maintenance experience
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Self-starter with accountability and attention to detail
- Physically capable of performing maintenance tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Passion for the game of golf preferred
