We are a horticultural services firm with a unique perspective. Forty -five years ago, we began providing interiorscape services for businesses. We grew to provide floral, plant rental , moss walls and holiday decorating services for a broad range of corporate, hospitality. residential and healthcare clients across mid-Michigan. We expanded into the outdoors thirty years ago ,with outdoor color plantings and services, and now include landscape design, installation and maintenance services in our offerings. Our focus remains excellence in design, providing healthy and beautiful plants and planters, and warm, professional and skilled services across our portfolio. We offer long-term commitment to meeting our clients’ needs and believe in the importance of nurturing our professional team as well. We believe in the importance of plants in human environments and embrace the use of sustainable practices in horticulture.
We are a team of horticulturists, botanists, entomologists, designers, technicians, installers, marketers, leaders and support staff . WHO WE SEEK
We seek a good listener and creative designer with ability to create beautiful, effective solutions for our clients. Ideal candidate will enjoy helping existing clients add plants and décor across our interior scope of work, as well as developing new client relationships from their own leads and those provided by our internal systems. A passion for plants, understanding of environmental requirements and ability to evaluate spaces for correct plants and décor are important. We always seek to provide high value and beautiful results while communicating appropriate expectations and timeframes. If you love plants and enjoy working with people in a fast paced, seasonally variable and hands-on environment , this work is fun and satisfying.
KEYS TO SUCCESS
Designer will learn to assess project timeline and goals , meet with client in person or via Zoom , gather needed measurements, photos and information, create a detailed and accurate proposal for the project and ongoing services, discuss questions with other design or installation leaders, shepherd proposal through internal review, and present proposals to client in format they prefer once approved to go out.
Designer will be supported with networking opportunities, extensive training, industry best practices training, supplier and company materials, coaching, mentoring and post- project analysis. Designer will experience both installation and service environment during training for best grasp of what is required for a good result and for building strong relationships with team members.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Candidates should have completed a degree in Horticulture, Botany, Ag Marketing , Interior Design, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, or a related field.
Candidates should have two years of experience working with indoor plants, plant production, bedding plants, plant design, interior design, biophilia or related sales and design work.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills and habits, with a focus on listening and retention of information through photography and note taking. The ability to engage, gather and consider details, and create earned trust and confidence is important.
Experience in the sales environment is very beneficial , with the ability to track and manage multiple and diverse projects in various stages of development essential. A willingness to ask for the sale and a commitment to following that sale through to an excellent client experience is essential.
Understanding of and engagement in sustainable practices and good resource management is at the heart of what we do. Experience in project management is useful in working with the larger team.
