We specialize in nursery stock and pride ourselves on combining traditional agricultural values with modern innovations.Position Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IPM and Plant Inventory Specialist to join our team. This dual-role position is critical to maintaining plant health through integrated pest management (IPM) and ensuring efficient inventory control across farm operations.Key Responsibilities:Integrated Pest Management (IPM):
- Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and beneficial insect activity through regular scouting and inspections.
- Identify pest problems and recommend appropriate control measures (cultural, biological, mechanical, and chemical).
- Maintain accurate records of IPM activities, treatments, and observations.
- Collaborate with growers and cultivation staff to develop preventative strategies and maintain compliance with local regulations.
- Safely handle and apply pesticides and biological agents as needed, following all safety protocols and regulations.
Plant Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory of supplies, materials, and products, including pesticides, fertilizers, packaging, and equipment.
- Plant Management at our Container Farm.
- Track inventory levels, forecast needs, and coordinate ordering and restocking
- Organize and label inventory storage areas for efficient access and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies of the Container Farm.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in agriculture, horticulture, or related field, preferably in IPM
- Knowledge of pest and disease identification, treatment strategies, and pesticide safety.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Familiarity with agricultural software systems and digital inventory tracking tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in outdoor and greenhouse environments.
- Valid pesticide applicator license (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Regular exposure to farm environments including greenhouses, outdoor fields, and storage facilities.
- May involve lifting (up to 50 lbs.), walking, standing for long periods, and exposure to agricultural chemicals (with PPE provided).
- Working evening and/or weekends to spray after production leaves
