The Position:
Summer Grounds Worker (Intern): requires some work/hands on experience working in some facet of the green industry with a green industry field of study.
Position Overview:
These are temporary, hourly, seasonal positions. The Intern will assist with the maintenance of indoor and outdoor gardens and displays as well as grounds maintenance and landscaping responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
The work schedule is varied and may include weekends and holidays.
College Credit:
Cranbrook is willing to work with your Academic Advisor to meet the needs of you earning credit in your degree program.
Wages:
$16.07 per hour
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Work with horticulture/arboriculture staff to coordinate and carryout daily tasks
- Operate tractor, mowers, power equipment, etc.
- Assist with the maintenance and installation of indoor and outdoor gardens under the supervision of the horticulture staff (weeding, watering, planting, etc.)
- Maintain trees and control invasive plants
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management staff
Requirements:
- All applicants undergo a background screening process including a Criminal background check
- Must be able to lift 30lbs and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Valid Driver’s License
