Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (CMBG) Public horticulture internships. Our mission statement is to inspire meaningful connections among people, plants and nature through horticulture, education and research.
At CMBG we offer a broad range of intern experiences involving all aspects of public horticulture. Our interns work closely all season with our horticulturists, learning solid gardening concepts and practices. Interns will have opportunities to learn about other aspects of public horticulture including curation, herbarium preservation techniques. This year we are adding Immersions with our entomologist, IPM specialist and arborist as well. Everyone will be encouraged to interact with visitors, answering questions on many topics. Other educational opportunities include sharing the importance of plants and Lepidoptera with visitors, working hands-on with greenhouse care, propagation and curation, and helping prepare plant samples for preservation in our Herbarium just to name a few. Field trips and many other opportunities for social networking add vibrancy to the program as well, all within the backdrop of beautiful Mid-coast Maine.
This is a paid internship offering $15.75/hr. with housing available at a very reasonable rate.
