The MSU Extension Master Gardener Program® will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027!

Communities across Michigan have benefited from the dedication of MSU Extension Master Gardener (EMG) volunteers for decades. From teaching and mentoring others in science-based gardening practices to growing and donating food, working with youth, and much more, EMGs make a lasting impact throughout the state.

To celebrate this anniversary, Michigan State University Extension looks forward to honoring all of you throughout 2027. Planned activities include a series of mini-events, such as online webinars and interactive activities, an opportunity to visit the MSU campus, and invitations to one or more of Michigan’s outstanding gardens.

Most importantly, we want to celebrate you and the difference you have made in your communities.
