2023 Chopped Food Challenge
Camp is wrapping up and campers are having a blast!
Garden Kitchen: STEAM Meal Prep
Campers were for sure busy this morning prepping their meals and making sure they're ready to be cooked. They were a bit stressed, once it was done they could relax! Their dishes turned out so well!
Moo to YOU!
MOOOOO!!! The dairy industry is very important all over the United States and campers brainstormed the list of dairy products we get from cattle. In three buckets labeled "what goes in," "what comes back," and "unrelated items" campers organized different items then their EDU Leader told them if it was right or wrong.
Advertisements
To promote their dish to camp, every pepper group hung up their advertisements under the pavilion just right before the taste testing. I loved seeing the creativity from each pepper group about their dish.
Taste Testing
The moment we've been preparing for all week has arrived! We had eight amazing judges taste test each pepper groups dish. Congrats to the Green Peppers for winning the best dish and also winning the litter competition. As well as congrats to the Yellow, Red and Orange Peppers for their amazing dishes too!
Capture The Flag
With tummies full and spirits high, campers split up between Green vs. Yellow and Red vs. Orange. It did get a little intense during the game, all in good fun though! They tired themselves out with a fun game of capture the flag. Even their EDU Leaders, Stewards/SIT's joined in on the fun!
Skits
Our final skits of camp! I love seeing what each pepper group comes up with to show their parents what they learned the entire week. It's so cute!
That's a wrap on summer camp 2023 here at MSU Tollgate! We'd like to thank the amazing staff who made each week possible and smooth as it could be. You all rock, hope to see you back next summer!!! To our amazing Stewards & SIT's you all were rockstars helping out our EDU Leaders and connecting with campers each week. It was sweet to see. You've been amazing role models and really put a smile on their faces. It's been a pleasure to run the camp blog for the past seven weeks, I love hearing the comments on how much parents love it. It feels very rewarding. Have a great school year, we hope to see you all next summer! Thanks for choosing MSU Tollgate Farms!
