2023 Splish Splash Camp Day 2
Time for another fun filled day!!
Garden Time: water balloon toss and water tornados
Over in the EDU Garden, campers had some fun with water! One group did a water balloon toss with reusable water balloons. The other group put together two pop bottles, one filled with water, they even added some glitter and food coloring. Once they did that, they spun it around and it created a super cool tornado!
Ducks, chickens, rabbits, and goats oh my!
Animal chore time! Everyone loves to visit our cute baby goats and bunnies. Our animals here at Tollgate are very loved and live the best life.
STEAM: boat building
Day two of campers building their boats from the drawings they did yesterday. I love how they get super creative with them and it comes to life! Once they finished their boat, everyone tested it to see if it would float. A lot of them were super successful.
Garden Kitchen: egg fried rice & citrus spinach salad
This morning’s snack was so good! The campers really liked it a lot and for the afternoon snack, some were a bit skeptical about a spinach salad. Once they were brave enough to try it, they liked it.
Filtration Challenge
Campers will identify the sources of pollution on the farm or in their own lives and explore ways counteracting it. They’ll realize not all pollution can be seen or effectively removed from water. Everyone will try and filter the dirty water then ask, “is it cleaner?” “How does water get dirty?”
Wagon Ride
Our tractor wasn't working this morning so we had to postpone the wagon ride. Farmer Roy got it back up and running! Since Tollgate is so big, taking a wagon ride is the best way to see areas of the farm we normally don't see during camp.
