2023 Splish Splash Water Camp Day 3
Survival Maze
With a 12 x 12 grid made from tape campers are to enter the maze one at a time moving either diagonally, forward, left, or right one square. It’s a good teamwork game to help campers communicate with each other. The game leader helps everyone by making sure they’re going down the correct path.
Fishing
Our campers took to the pond and went fishing! They even kept score of the different kinds of fish they caught… turtles too. Every pepper group caught a bunch of fish, and they really loved it.
Vernal pool hike/ exploration
During their hike campers investigated the vernal pools and forest swamps to search for evidence in Tollgate’s Forest. A vernal pool is a contained basin depression lacking a permanent above ground outlet.
STEAM: Boat building
Our STEAM project has been continued. Each pepper group must work together in building a boat for their group that will float. At the end of the week, they’ll test it in the water! This activity was such a good way for campers to work together and share materials to successfully the boat.
Garden Kitchen: Fruit smoothie & fried tofu with green beans
Campers had an easy, refreshing snack today! Each pepper group got to pick what fruits they put in their smoothies, and they loved it. The afternoon snack was so yummy, they really enjoyed the snack.
Be sure to pack swimsuit for your camper on Friday for the slip in slide!!
