Callahan-Brandt receives 2026 CANR Early Achievement Award

Aislinn Callahan‑Brandt, of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, will receive the CANR Early Achievement Award on May 6.
The Early Achievement Award recognizes a support staff member who has worked for the college for fewer than five years and has made outstanding contributions through teamwork, creative problem-solving and exceptional customer service. Recipients exemplify a positive demeanor, inspire others through their dedication and enhance the experience of the CANR and MSU communities.
Callahan‑Brandt is an academic program coordinator in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition and has been a member of the CANR community since 2022. Since joining the department, she has distinguished herself through her professionalism, efficiency and commitment to supporting students, faculty and staff.
Colleagues consistently highlight her positive attitude and responsiveness. One nominator praised her “warmth, outgoing personality, technical and communication skills,” noting that she approaches her work with both efficiency and care. Another shared, “When asked a question, or to investigate an issue, Aislinn responds pleasantly and rapidly. She maintains a positive attitude and handles difficult issues our students face with maturity and grace.”
Callahan‑Brandt is also recognized for her efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment, particularly for graduate and international students. She regularly reaches out to new graduate students to explain American cultural norms, events and traditions, helping them feel prepared and included. One international student shared, “Beyond helping us understand cultural differences, her actions convey genuine care and a strong commitment to keeping us informed.”
Through her dedication, compassion and proactive approach to student support, Callahan‑Brandt has made a meaningful impact early in her career. Her work exemplifies the values recognized by the CANR Early Achievement Award.
