Center for PFAS Research Faculty Spotlight: Wayne Jiang
Dr. Jiang is the Director of the Analytical Laboratory at the Center for PFAS Research. He is currently working on developing and validating analytical methods for PFAS substances.
Dr. Wayne Jiang has over 20 years of experience in research, teaching, and services. He’s focused on analytical methodology on PFAs, pesticides and other contaminants. While Dr. Jiang was on the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) mission Capacity Building, he and colleagues travelled to many developing countries and assisted with developing pest management programs and establishing regulatory systems. Dr. Jiang has been with MSU for almost 20 years and has worked in industry and private sector. During COVID, he still managed to work with pesticide researchers all over the world, thanks to our technology abilities!
Dr. Jiang is the Director of the Analytical Laboratory at the Center for PFAS Research. He is currently working on developing and validating analytical methods for PFAS substances. As the Director, he assists in PFAS research by providing analytical service, training technicians and students on the analytical methods. He also focuses his research on PFAS in food crops. Dr. Jiang is also involved in the administrative and planning side of establishing the Center for PFAS Analytical Laboratory.
Dr. Wayne Jiang has travelled to more than 30 countries and has lived and worked in Southern China, Canada and Michigan. Jiang is always looking for new ways to challenge himself and truly loves working with students. He values peace and believes we’re able to achieve that as a society with a little work.
