European chafer grubs are hungry

A warm March has stirred the appetite of European chafer grubs in lawns, golf course roughs, and low-maintenance turf sites. Watch for dead patches in turf and sometimes bare soil that increase in size over the next two weeks. Sevin and Dylox are the best insecticides for treating large white grubs in early spring to prevent additional spring damage. If the weather continues to be warm, the spring feeding period for European chafer could be over by mid- to late April.
