Interesting Experience in Forestry
One of the most interesting experiences I have had in Forestry is a study away during the spring break of Spring 2023 to Nacientes Palmichal, San Jose, Costa Rica. I was part of a team of MSU students that helped the community of Nacientes Palmichal build a trail and community engagement area at the top of the trail. During our time there, we got the opportunity to engage with those in the community and help them further expand the trail and their community area. This was an experience that I really enjoyed.
Why did you choose forestry?
I honestly didn’t choose forestry as my first major. I originally chose pre-vet but I came to learn that veterinary science wasn’t for me as a career, so I decided to take my passion for animals as well as the outside and make it into a career which led me into Forestry and Fisheries & Wildlife.
Career Goals
My potential career goals are to work for the federal government either operating equipment, doing prescribed burns, or doing field work.
