FSP Launches New Practitioners Guide on Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation
This interactive guidebook brings together tools and resources to help practitioners design and implement capacity development activities with an innovation systems approach in mind.
A new interactive resource titled “Capacity development for agriculture innovation: A practitioners’ guidebook to a systems approach” (CD4AIS) brings together tools to help design and implement capacity development activities with an innovation systems approach in mind. The guidance aims to enable agricultural innovation systems actors—and development practitioners more widely—to better identify capacity development opportunities that continuously improve innovation capabilities within value chains, agrifood systems, and the agricultural sector more generally. Developed by a team from Michigan State University, the International Food Policy Research Institute, and Wageningen University & Research, with support from USAID under the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy, the guidebook is not a step-by-step prescription, but rather a set of practical ideas and elements that can be used at multiple points in an agricultural innovation process.
