Informational webinar for Michigan fairs and exhibitions to be hosted June 6, 2024

Fairs and exhibitions preparing for the 2024 fair season should plan to attend this informational webinar for updates and recommendations.

Those involved in fairs and exhibitions should focus on animal health.

The 2024 fair and exhibition season in Michigan is just around the corner, with plans being made for the “best week of the summer” in many areas. People who are responsible for planning these events are busy preparing, engaging and finalizing details so that their event is a success. County fairs and livestock exhibitions involve many people working together so that the youth exhibiting and public attending the event have an enjoyable and safe experience.

Protecting fair attendees, exhibitors and their families and the animals that these events are all high priorities for those that host county fairs and livestock exhibitions. It is important that they have the tools they need to share information about good health hygiene, biosecurity practices that reduce the spread of disease, and how to identify a sick animal. To help do this, Michigan State University Extension has partnered with Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) and Michigan Association of Fair and Exhibitors (MAFE) to provide educational information and resources to fair boards, managers, event planners, species superintendents and 4-H Program Coordinators during a webinar hosted on Thursday June 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. This webinar is free to attend. The webinar will share information on these topics and provide fair leadership a chance to engage with industry experts during the Q&A portion of the webinar.
