Many members of our community came to celebrate with us, including past students and lab members (one all the way from Ohio!) She was gifted an embroidered Carhartt, gift card to her favorite bookstore, Schulers, and a 90's snack themed goodie basket to take to girls weekend with her sister.

From the award:

"Jaime possesses a leadership style that is both positive and inspiring. She has a remarkable ability to motivate her team, fostering a work environment where each member feels valued and appreciated. One of Jaime's standout qualities is her skill in cultivating a sense of belonging and community within our workplace. This not only significantly boosts morale in our lab but also enhances the quality of our research."

"Dr. Willbur has always created a welcoming environment for scientific professionals. She has established a collaborative and supportive work environment for all members. There is a feeling of trust, compassion, and cooperation between colleagues that creates exceptional work and fosters healthy workplace interactions. She treats everyone with the utmost respect."

"Jaime's positive and inclusive leadership has built a community environment that makes working in her lab enormously rewarding. Researchers are encouraged to share labor and resources, especially on large projects. Whether we are brainstorming about an experiment in the lab, or tackling a long, hot, muddy day in the field, Jaime leads by example, never using her position as an excuse to avoid even the most mundane or unpleasant tasks."
