Late blight confirmed in tomatoes in Essex County, Ontario
Growers should be aware that late blight can still be active in irrigated crops, regardless of the warm weather.
Late blight has been confirmed on tomatoes in Essex County, Ontario within the last seven days. The reports were confirmed on the Ontario Vegetables website. Essex County is very close to southeastern potato and tomato production (see photo) and growers should be very aware that, despite the warm weather, late blight can still be active in irrigated crops. There are still no reports of late blight in the fields in Michigan on either potatoes or tomatoes.
