Mark your calendars for the 2027 Breakfast on the Farm event
MSU Extension's Breakfast on the Farm event returns on July 10, 2027, in Clayton, Michigan.
Michigan State University Extension is excited to announce the 2027 Breakfast on the Farm event will take place at Hoffland Dairy, LLC in Clayton, Michigan, on Saturday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with breakfast served until noon. The farm is located at 9510 Haley Rd., Clayton, Michigan, 49235.
About the program
Breakfast on the Farm events include a free, farm-cooked breakfast followed by a self-guided farm tour. Since 2009, Michigan State University Extension has held 43 Breakfast on the Farm events, which have been attended by more than 93,000 people. Participating farms have included horse, dairy, beef, field crops and one apple orchard.
“We are pleased to hold our 44th Breakfast on the Farm event,” Ron Bates, director of agriculture and agribusiness programming at MSU Extension, said. “For many years, MSU Extension’s Breakfast on the Farm has served as a premier educational event for Michigan agriculture that provides the nonfarming public a unique opportunity to see the day-to-day workings of a modern farm.”
About the tour
Organizers are working to create a self-guided walking tour. Visitors will learn about dairy production from beginning to end, starting at the calf barn and ending with the milk truck as it takes fresh, healthy milk to the processing facility. The tour will also include a stop where visitors can learn about the farm’s environmental stewardship practices. Educational stations and knowledgeable specialists, industry leaders and volunteers will also be stationed throughout the farm.
Interested in attending?
Free tickets are required for the event and will be available in June, one month prior to the July 10, 2027 event. As the event approaches, additional information will be shared on the MSU Extension Breakfast on the Farm website and Facebook.
