Michael Legg, Class of 1970 (MS) and 1973 (PhD)
After getting my MS under Dr Kielbaso, who by the way was a wonderful professor and mentor, I earned my Ph.D under Gary Schneider in Forest Ecology with an emphasis on resource recreation. My research was on Sylvania Wilderness in the U.P. After MSU, I became a professor at Stephen F Austin State University in Texas. Worked my way up through the ranks to eventually become Associate Dean of the College of Forestry and Agriculture. I accepted the endowed Robert Minton Chair of Forestry until I retired in 2008. My wife and I now spend our time between Nacogdoches, TX and Cozumel, Mexico. We work with a group of volunteers in Cozumel helping kids finish school and paying their way through college. I have fond memories of MSU long ago.
