Attend the Michigan Water Quality Management Forum and Field Showcase at the Kellogg Biological Station

This free, half-day event on August 26 features presentations on topics related to water quality and conservation as well as hands-on field demonstrations and tours.

Join Michigan State University Extension on Aug. 26, 2026, for the Michigan Water Quality Management Forum and Field Showcase at the Kellogg Biological Station (KBS). This free, half-day event brings together policymakers, watershed organizations, commodity groups, conservation professionals, farmers, agricultural service providers, researchers and students.

The event will begin with a series of short presentations covering important topics related to water quality and conservation. Topics include water quality management, soil erosion, updates from the AgClimate Resiliency Project, soil health and soil carbon, regenerative agriculture, local water quality improvement efforts, and conservation projects from Michigan and Ohio.

The second half of the event will feature hands-on field demonstrations and tours. Participants will visit and learn about:

No-till production systems
Cover crops combined with no-till practices
Conventional corn-soybean production systems
Rainfall simulator demonstrations
Edge-of-field water quality monitoring systems
Phosphorus filter technology

Registration

Pre-registration is required by Aug. 19, 2026, to reserve a meal. Walk-in participants are welcome, but lunch cannot be guaranteed.

Note: Farmers/producers who attend the event will be reimbursed for their mileage.
