National nut growers meeting offers Michigan producers great opportunity close to home in August
The Chestnut Growers of America and Northern Nut Growers Association national conference will be held in Lansing from Aug. 3-6, 2025.
Nut producers in the Great Lakes region have an excellent educational and networking opportunity. The Northern Nut Growers Association and the Chestnut Growers of America will hold a joint conference Aug. 3-6, 2025, at the Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Lansing, Michigan. A full conference agenda is available, and a summary of the tentative agenda is below.
Sunday, August 3
Welcome dinner farm tour at Nash Nurseries in Owosso, Michigan, including show-and-tell presentations.
Monday, August 4
Northern Nut Growers Association business meeting, grower presentations and research reporting with separate forums for beginning and commercial nut growers. Poster session and live auction fundraiser in the evening.
Tuesday, August 5
Grower presentations and research reporting. Separate forum for fruit production and value-added products. Networking and social banquet in the evening. Poster session.
Wednesday, August 6
Tour the Michigan State University (MSU) AgBioResearch Clarksville Research Center and Chestnut Growers Inc. processing facility located in Clarksville. Visit the 65-acre Beyer chestnut orchard in Pawpaw. Wrap up the day at the Roger’s Reserve MSU AgBioResearch nut growing research facility in Jackson.
The conference is open to anyone with an interest in nut-producing trees and includes a beginner nut grower forum for those just getting started.
The full conference registration is $425. Single day registration and discounts for association members, students and exhibitors are available.
