EAST LANSING, Mich. – Reid Dairy Farm, in St. Clair County, will host a free Breakfast on the Farm event June 15 in Jeddo. This family-friendly event gives consumers a glimpse of what modern production agriculture is all about. This event will take place at Reid Dairy Farm, 7096 Vincent Rd., Jeddo (Grant Township) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to noon.
Attendees are in for a treat at the Reid Dairy Breakfast on the Farm. In addition to a free pancake breakfast featuring Michigan-made products and self-guided tours of the farm, visitors will learn about the life stages of a dairy cow and see how nutrients are recycled on-site and how the farm utilizes solar energy to power its barns.
“We are a second-generation dairy that really started from the ground up,” said Jim Reid, farm owner. “It’s an honor to be chosen to host such an event; we’re looking forward to sharing what we do with our non-farm neighbors.”
Reid Dairy Farm prides itself on animal well-being and comfort.
“Guests will get to learn about where we keep our cows and how well we take care of them,” Reid added. “The life of a farmer is so different every day, and we couldn’t be more excited to share that with the consumers through Breakfast on the Farm.”
