Stan Moore receives Outstanding Alumni Award at ANR Week 2019.
The CANR Outstanding Alumni Awards are given to those who have distinguished themselves by obtaining the highest level of professional accomplishments, and who possess the highest standards of integrity and character.
Stan Moore is an MSU Extension senior dairy educator. For the past 28 years, he has provided expertise for MSU Extension. He delivered annual pesticide recertification classes to farmers, collaborated in on-farm bioenergy research trials and revised the farm employee handbook template. He now serves in a leadership capacity for agriculture labor management programming in Michigan.
Starting out as an MSU Extension agricultural agent in Eaton County, he then became the Extension dairy educator for Eaton, Barry and Calhoun counties, and later served 11 years as Antrim County MSU Extension director. He has provided leadership for the MSU Extension Dairy Team and now serves as the MSU Animal Agriculture Work Team leader.
He has served as president of the Michigan Association of Extension Agents and chaired the Northern Michigan Small Farms Conference. He served terms as both National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) president and as North Central Region director. He was also president of the Joint Council of Extension Professionals. He has received the NACAA Distinguished Service Award and the NACAA Communications Award, and he was their national finalist in public relations in daily efforts in 2005.
