Biography

Dr. Eeswaran Rasu is a Research Associate at the Institute of Water Research (IWR), Michigan State University. His research advances the resilience of agricultural systems in Michigan and beyond through data-driven, field-based, and farmer-engaged approaches. He is also committed to incorporating research findings into mentoring and training activities aimed at educating and inspiring future researchers and practitioners.

Eeswaran earned his Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Sciences from the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences at Michigan State University, specializing in Ecological Food and Farming Systems. He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Technology and Management and an M.Phil. in Crop Science from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Prior to joining IWR, he completed his postdoctoral training on assessing soil health and productivity drivers of U.S. row cropping systems at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.
