MSU Extension Product Center

Sheena Fate is a Food Processing Specialist with the Michigan State University Extension Product Center. She works with state and federally inspected food manufacturers throughout Michigan to enhance their food safety and regulatory compliance. She creates full food safety programs, prepares facilities for private standard certifications, conducts animal welfare audits, and conducts training on food safety management systems including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification courses.

In addition to her undergraduate degree in animal science from MSU, Sheena holds a master's degree in food safety from MSU where she was the 2020 Mather Award Winner for her co-authored paper, “Assessment of Sanitation Practices for the Control of Listeria monocytogenes at Small and Very Small Ready-to-Eat Meat and Poultry Processors”.
