Jessica received a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from Grand Valley State University in 2017. During her time at GVSU, she conducted several research projects on renewable energy resource assessments.
Following undergrad, Jessica was employed at the Ottawa Conservation District as an Invasive Species Specialist. She worked with private landowners in West Michigan to eradicate invasive plants and promote native plant restoration.
Jessica went back to school to pursue a Master of Science in Community Sustainability at Michigan State University. Her thesis focused on understanding the social acceptance of and decision-making processes for utility-scale solar projects in Michigan.
Since her graduation in spring of 2021, Jessica has been working as a Community Programs Coordinator with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy. She provides technical and financial assistance to local public-service entities who are interested in adopting energy efficiency and renewable energy practices. Additionally, she is helping to advance electric vehicle fast charging infrastructure across the state.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys running outside and spending time with her beloved cat Pumpkin.
