Kable Thurlow is a field-based educator at Michigan State University Extension. He began his career in March 1998 as a 4-H Livestock Agent. In 1999, he expanded his role to include responsibilities as a 4-H Livestock and Agricultural Agent for Gladwin County. By January 2007, he became the County Agent in Agriculture and Natural Resources for Clare and Gladwin Counties. He was a key member of the original team investigating grass-finishing beef at MSU Extension, under the leadership of Dr. Jason Rowntree.

Additionally, Kable coordinates the MSU Extension Beginner Grazing School and the Great Lakes Grazing Newsletter. He collaborates with farmers to implement adaptive and regenerative pasture management practices. One of his favorite ways to engage with farmers is through pasture walks held across the state almost every month of the year.
