Kevin Odhiambo Obiero
Mr. Kevin Obiero is the holder of both a B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from Moi University specializing in Aquatic Sciences and Aquaculture. Professionally, Kevin is a research scientist at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), working as a Centre Director in-charge of administrative and research programmes at Sagana Research Centre. He has been actively involved in conducting multidisciplinary research expeditions on Lake Turkana focusing on fish biology, ecology, taxonomy, biomass and socio-economics aspects of the lake’s fisheries. His main research interest is focused on addressing the impacts of climate change and other socioeconomic and anthropogenic stressors on the fisheries and broader ecosystem in one of Africa’s most important yet understudied lakes. He has co-authored and published his research findings aimed at predicting the impacts of lake level changes on aquatic ecosystems within Africa and beyond.
