My current research focuses on the impact of soil pores on the transformation and sequestration of soil organic carbon (SOC) fractions. I employ various soil amendments (e.g., biochar, inorganic minerals, and organic materials) to improve soil physical properties and utilize X-ray CT technology to quantify changes in soil pore structure. Additionally, I use 13C-labeled straw to investigate the transformation and stabilization processes of particulate organic matter (POM) and mineral-associated organic matter (MAOM) under these conditions. My research experience also includes investigating the temporal dynamics of soil organic carbon fractions under different land-use systems (e.g., paddy fields and greenhouse cultivation). Additionally, I have employed mineral-based amendments to enhance the physical properties of saline-alkali soils, focusing on porosity modification, crack formation patterns, and soil water retention characteristics.
