How it Works 

This grant program seeks to increase domestic consumption and access to locally and regionally produced agricultural products by developing direct producer-to-consumer market opportunities. This may include the establishment or improvement of a food hub or a food hub related business. 

Funding Focuses On  

The development of new opportunities for farmers and ranchers working with:  

  • The improvement of domestic farmer’s markets 
  • Roadside stands 
  • Community-supported agriculture programs 
  • Agro-tourism activities 
  • Other direct producer-to-consumer market opportunities 

Funding Limit  

  • Capacity Building (CB) projects, maximum $250,000 for 36 months 
  • Community Development Training and Technical Assistance (CTA), maximum $500,000 for 36 months 
  • Turnkey Marketing and Promotion, maximum $100,000 for 24 months  

Qualifications  

Eligible entities include agricultural businesses, agricultural cooperatives, community support agriculture networks and associations, economic development corporations, food councils, local governments, nonprofit corporations, producer networks, regional farmers market authorities, and Tribal governments. The program requires a 25% match commitment.
