Tree Vendors

The following list of names, web addresses, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers is copied from the Northern Nut Growers Association’s Nutshell and represents some companies that can help growers establish chestnut orchards in Michigan.  The comments associated with each organization are based on experiences of researchers at Michigan State University.  Remember, no chestnut material, other than nuts, can be brought into Michigan due to the Chestnut Asian Gall Wasp pest quarantine.  Also, remember, mixing Chinese and European/Japanese hybrids may lead to nuts with internal kernel breakdown (IKB).  For more information on plant material selection for Michigan producers visit http://chestnuts.msu.edu/horticultural_care/cultivars_for_michigan.

NOTE: This information is listed for the sole purpose of benefiting chestnut growers in Michigan and the appearance or exclusion of a source on this list does not imply an endorsement of that company or individual by Michigan State University or a bias against those not listed.
