Industry Scholarships

The Michigan Vegetable Council and the Michigan State Horticultural Society, with the help of generous industry sponsors, provide scholarships each year to students pursuing careers in or connected to the fruit and vegetable industries in the Midwest. Undergraduate and graduate students at Michigan State University and other midwestern universities are eligible to apply (undergraduates must have attained at least sophomore status). The target amount of each scholarship is $2,000, but it could be more or less, at the discretion of the selection committee.  These are awarded annually.

In 2024, industry scholarship awards totaled $25,000. These sponsors, in addition to the Michigan Vegetable Council and the Michigan State Horticultural Society, provided the funding for the industry scholarships:

Scholarship recipients will be selected in the fall and will be invited to attend the Expo Social program at the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market EXPO in early December where the scholarships will be presented.
