Animal Health & Disease

Animal Health and Disease projects support 5-year research that advances animal health at accredited state veterinary schools, colleges, and agricultural experiment stations. These projects address a wide range of issues, including the welfare and productivity of income-generating animals, as well as the prevention and control of diseases that affect both animals and humans. Agricultural animals include livestock, poultry, horses, fish and other agriculturally important commodities through research, education, and extension activities. Each proposal undergoes an internal peer review process, endorsed by unit administrator, ABR Directors, and is submitted to the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) for final review and approval.
