Have you ever wondered what the difference is between service dogs, therapy animals, and emotional support animals? During this six-week virtual SPIN club, we will take a deep dive into all things assistance animals.
Learn more about how animals, especially dogs, can “lend a paw” to help people! Throughout this program, you’ll learn about the human-animal bond, zooeyia, and the work of three types of assistance animals. Find out how they are trained, the amazing things they do, and the best ways to interact with these incredible animals.
This program will be offered via Zoom from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:
October 3 The Human-Animal Bond
October 10 What is the Difference between the Assistance?
October 24 Training and Getting to Work
November 7 Investigating Impact and Assistance Animal Etiquette
November 14 Leader Dogs for the Blind Info Session
November 21 Assistance Animal Misrepresentation and Becoming an Advocate
Registrants should plan to attend all sessions.

This program is open to youth ages 12-19 as of January 1, 2024.
