Bio: Chibwe is currently an advisor on breeding for Karyosoft Inc. and a founder of Banyan Tree Skills Academy, which focuses on leadership and personal development to empower individuals. She is certified as a Maxwell Leadership Team Member and Maxwell DISC Behavioral Analysis Consultant, and is a licensed Facilitator, Coach, Speaker, and Trainer on Maxwell Leadership personal and professional development. She spent ~5 years as Head of Breeding at BASF Vegetable Seeds, overseeing vegetable breeding programs across the Americas. She has over 24 years of experience in leading breeding programs for field and vegetable crops, which includes 18 years at Dow Chemical (Dow AgroSciences) and a year as a Research Group Leader at RD4AG, managing an Agronomy Research team. Chibwe earned a BSc in Agriculture and an MSc in Plant Breeding from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and a PhD in Plant Breeding from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec. She lives in California with her son.
