Evaluating carbon benefits of alternative utilization pathways for forest residues beyond pile burning
This presentation will share insights from a study conducted on comparison of the carbon benefits of different forest residue utilization alternatives through a cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment. An extension of this work is in progress to support decision-making in forest residue management, promote diversified markets for them, reduce wildfire risk, and enhance the carbon benefits of forests beyond current practices in California.
