Viticulture Field Day and Michigan Enology Experience

Join us on July 31 for the 35th Annual Michigan Viticulture Field Day and new this year the Enology Experience Day on August 1!

This year’s Viticulture Field Day will be Wednesday, July 31 at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center outside of Benton Harbor, MI. Check-in starts at 8:00 am with presentations beginning after 9:00 am. Lunch and a steak dinner will be included with your attendance. We will have speakers discussing the current research going on in Michigan viticulture as well as tips and tricks and the newest tools and technology to help you successfully grow grapes. 

As always, the tradeshow will have vendors showcasing some of the newest and best precision viticulture equipment in the area. Don’t forget about the famous steak cookout and Michigan wine showcase. Enjoy the evening socializing with the rest of the grape-growing community over some good food and local wine. 

New this year, the Enology Experience just for the Michigan winemakers. The day after Viticulture Field Day, meet other winemakers and winery decision makers at the Welch Center on Lake Michigan College campus. Check-in starts at 8:00 am with presentations beginning after 9:00 am. We will start the day discussing the state of the Michigan wine industry followed by presentations on quality wine production and a tasting panel of our own Michigan winemakers sharing their thoughts on some lesser grown varieties. The afternoon will consist of visits to local winemaking facilities where we will discuss different aspects of good wine production before we return to the Welch Center for a Lake Michigan Vintners Open House and small bites.
