Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Michigan Good Food Summit!
When is it?
Friday, May 19, 2023 from 8:30am-4pm
Where will the summit take place?
Held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing, this will be first in-person Summit since 2018. There will also be virtual attendance options.
Who will be there?
This event brings together a mix of people from every corner of the system, including farmers, food service directors, health care professionals, and more. All are welcome to attend the summit!
What happens at the event?
The interactive agenda will bring together food systems advocates and practitioners to:
- Celebrate the publication of the 2022 Michigan Good Food Charter
- Highlight leaders working toward Michigan's good food future
- Connect with others to plan for action, collaboration, and next steps
The morning kicks off with stories to showcase Michigan good food innovation, collaboration, and inspiration. Shiloh Maples, an Anishinaabe community organizer, seed keeper, and storyteller, will deliver the keynote speech in the morning.
The afternoon includes discussion breakouts on the following topics:
- Coordinate Food Policy Action
- Strengthen Michigan Local/Regional Value Chains
- Care for & Connection to the Land and Ecosystems
- Design and Learn Together
- Culturally Relevant Food and Health Connections
- Open Session/Unsession

Will there be food served?
Yes! Included in your registration, there will be a light breakfast served in the morning and a locally sourced meal at lunch. Dietary restrictions can be noted during your registration.
Coffee and water will be readily available all day.
