January - March: Introduction to Lakes (6-week self-paced online course covering a range of lake topics including lake ecology, watersheds, shorelines, aquatic plant management, Michigan water law, and community involvement) Presented by the Michigan State University Extension Center for Lakes and Streams. Registration Deadline: January 28. $
January 22, Noon: Art and Aquatic Invasive Species: Paper Plant Models. Presented by Linda Hamilton, Daydream Flowers. Host: Benzie Conservation District.
NEW January 28, Noon. Conservation and best management practices for amphibians and reptiles in Michigan. Presented by David Mifsud, Herpetological Resource and Management. Host: Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council.
NEW February 12, Noon. Didymo? How about Didy-less. Collaboration and citizen science to combat rock snot in Michigan. Presented by Jordyn Stoll, Michigan Trout Unlimited. Host: Benzie Conservation District.
February 18-20: Annual Invasive Species Forum. Host: Invasive Species Centre.
NEW February 25, Noon. Road salt: A necessary evil? Presented by Alan Steinman, Annis Water Resources Institute, Grand Valley State University. Host: Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council.
Ongoing: Michigan Paddle Stewards (three-hour, self-paced online course teaches paddlers to identify, report, and prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species). Host: Michigan Sea Grant.
