EmailThis year’s outing raised $1,700 for student scholarships. The participants witnessed the passing of an era, with Paul Nieratko announcing this was his last year organizing the golf outing on behalf of the Landscape Architecture Alumni and Advisory Board.
This year’s outing raised $1,700 for student scholarships. The participants witnessed the passing of an era, with Paul Nieratko announcing this was his last year organizing the golf outing on behalf of the Landscape Architecture Alumni and Advisory Board. The advisory board has not identified if they will continue this activity in the future.
On behalf of the entire Michigan State University landscape architecture community, we thank Nieratko for all he has done, and continues to do, for the students, the program and the university!
As for the golf outing, participants witnessed a range of weather conditions, including brief and heavy downpours! However, the duffers persevered with the winning team of Craig Boss, Pete Crawford, Eric Cronk and Kevin Erickson posting a score of 56 with two eagles, 12 birdies and four pars!
Mallory Koning won the women’s longest drive and Todd Corbin won the men’s longest drive. The men’s longest drive for players nine-years-or-younger was won by none other than Jennings Burley!
Holly Hennelly won closest to the flagstick for women and Craig Boss won closest to the flagstick for men. Pete Motz holed the longest put on the 18th hole. As usual, I did my best work on the 19th hole!
We also thank the MSU Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects student volunteers for making the signs, running registration and helping keep all of our eyes on the ball, which is student success!
